The Headway Women’s Group is a peer support group formed by females affected by acquired brain injury. Engaging in a number of different activities, members aim to support, inspire and encourage new learning experiences. From craft and relaxation sessions to local day trips and afternoon teas, the group increases social interaction and provides peer support through sharing experiences and information specific to women. Many members are involved in local community projects, annual fundraising activities and are actively involved in activity planning and group management.
The Women’s Group welcomes both survivors and carers affected by acquired brain injury to join them once a month at The Renfield Centre to try something new or simply share their story.
“(All women)…. makes it easy to talk to each other.”
“…sit and chat and learn a new skill.”
“…can talk without feeling judged and learn fun activities.”
